Breanna Lam
Background and Experience
Breanna Lam is a PhD Candidate and National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow in the Department of Biology at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). She earned a degree in molecular and cellular biology at the University of California, San Diego, where she was a Regents Scholar and graduated magna cum laude. Her research in the lab of Dr. Sinisa Hrvatin at the Whitehead Institute is centered around unraveling the intricate genetic mechanisms that safeguard cells against the adverse effects of hypothermia. Beyond her research, Breanna is deeply committed to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives within the Whitehead Institute. She is an active participant in both the Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) and DEI Allies groups.
