Ben is an accomplished Technology Licensing Officer specializing in Biomedical Devices. In this role, he assesses, safeguards, and licenses a diverse range of groundbreaking technologies, including medical imaging, optogenetics, surgical devices, prosthetics, microfluidics, and neuroscience. Managing over 750 cases from inception to completion, Ben expertly navigates MIT's innovation landscape, resulting in approximately 10 licenses and around 50 US and international patents granted each year.
His academic journey began with a Bachelor's in Physics from Carleton, followed by a Master's and Ph.D. in Applied Physics from Cornell University. He boasts a unique blend of expertise in engineering, physics, and biology, complemented by a profound understanding of intellectual property development and strategy.
